National Leadership Meeting 2007 FCCLA's 2007 National Leadership Meeting will be held in Anaheim, California. The 2006-2007 National Executive Council has selected Leadership Revolution as the theme for the meeting. Meeting sessions will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center, Hilton Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott, and the Sheraton Park Hotel. General Sessions will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Come and learn more about national programs, make new friends, and share ideas. The Youth will have the opportunity to hear inspiring speakers during the youth issue sessions and participate in workshops. Advisors will have the opportunity to attend the Adult General Assembly and hear a dynamic keynote presentation, as well as attend workshops geared just for them. The new Middle Level Comprehensive Guide on CD and the newly developed Stop the Violence Tool Kit will be introduced. 2007 National Outreach Project
To address this concern, FCCLA is proud to continue its collaboration with the American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life signature event again as this year. One of the most effective ways you can help in the fight against cancer is to participate in your local Relay For Life. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. The power of Relay is that it allows a community to grieve for those lost to cancer and to celebrate the lives of those who survived. Relay For Life Rally and Dance Put on your walking shoes, grab a friend, and come ready to have fun! At our first-ever FCCLA and American Cancer Society Relay For Life Rally, we'll get to experience the fun and excitement of a Relay For Life event! There will be live music and fun activities you won't want to miss. We'll honor cancer survivors and remember those we've lost to cancer in our special luminary ceremony. We'll also recognize the state delegation with the "Best State Banner" and the state delegation with the "Best State Spirit". At 9 pm, we'll turn up the music for 2 hours of dancing and more fun - this is one party you won't want to miss! Please note there is no charge for this event but donations will be accepted for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. At the National Leadership Meeting, each state delegation will be responsible for designing a banner that represents their state. It should be colorful, creative, and it is suggested that each student sign it. American Cancer Society will have all the supplies you'll need at the National Leadership Meeting. Each state will carry their banner to the Relay rally on Tuesday night. There will be a competition and prizes for the best banner! The most special part of the Relay Rally will be honoring our cancer survivors. Students and advisors will line the "track" and cheer as survivors take their victory lap! If you are a cancer survivor, we invite you to participate in this special opening lap. We look forward to celebrating your victory with you!
Spotlight on Projects at nationals is an excellent opportunity for chapters to gather new ideas for projects and to share their best projects with other delegates and guests. If you have a project, activity or program you would like to share, please contact Jill. Spotlight on Projects will be held on Tuesday, July 10 from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. Participation forms will be included in the National Leadership Meeting Promo Piece and are due May 1, 2007.
