Fall Delegate Assembly November 7, 2006 Hennepin Technical College - Brooklyn Park Campus The state Executive Council wants you to see how to Amplify Your Life at Fall Delegate Assembly on November 7th. In addition to the election of the new state executive council, there will be six educational sessions for delegates to attend. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend 'Meet the Candidates' and two more sessions chosen from the following: Meet the Candidates Take this opportunity to meet the state officer candidates and ask them questions in an informal session. At the conclusion of the questioning, voting will be conducted. i-Safe Amplify your internet safety with i-SAFE. i-SAFE is the only internet safety education program that combines curriculum with activities for community outreach and youth empowerment. i-SAFE Mentor Training will teach you how to work with i-SAFE and make a difference in the world. Step-by-step you will find the best method of empowering your neighbors and peers. Dating Violence Sometimes young people in relations seek to gain control over their girlfriend or boyfriend. When a person's actions and attitudes humiliate the dating partner, restrict their contact with other friends, control their schedule, or require that the partner change to fit strict expectations, relationship abuse may be involved. The abuse is a form of violence, and sometimes is carried to physical violence. Learn the warning signs and what you can do to be in a safe relationship. The Power of Words With a focus on life beyond high school, this entertaining and thought provoking presentation employs examples from professional speaking to stress the importance of understanding words and using them well in order to succeed. Ticket to Understanding Ticket to Understanding gives students the opportunity to take a brief personality profile and then connect concepts of personality into their daily life. Applications include career choice, working with others, and more. Lots of real life examples that will help students amplify their understanding of how to get along with people in a variety of situations.
